Should I Apply to This Job? A Practical Checklist
People often talk themselves out of jobs because they miss one bullet, or apply because the title sounds close enough. A better check starts with the work itself and the requirements that are genuinely central to the role.

Would you actually do this work?
Read the day-to-day responsibilities before you look at the keyword overlap. If the work is far from your experience or goals, a high match score will not make it a good job for you.
Sort the gaps
Some gaps are presentation problems. Others are real skill gaps. Knowing which is which tells you whether to update the resume, learn something new or simply move on.
Check the job quality
A solid listing should tell you what you will do, how the team works and enough about pay and process to decide whether the application is worth your time.
Make the call yourself
Use a tool result as a summary, not as permission. A stretch role can still be worth it. A high keyword match for work you do not want is not.
