The rules for using ClockIN during beta. Effective 14 September 2026. We may update them as the product changes.
Paid bounties and mentorship have transaction-specific rules that sit alongside these Terms. Both parties may be required to accept the applicable policy version before a protected commitment is created.
You may use ClockIN only if you can lawfully enter into these Terms. Keep your account information accurate, protect your login credentials, and use only accounts, organizations and projects you are authorized to control. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
ClockIN provides public career tools that can be used without an account. Their scores, parsed fields, match results, interview-preparation prompts and readiness signals are informational guidance. They do not reproduce every proprietary applicant-tracking system, guarantee that an employer will parse or rank a resume in the same way, provide legal or employment advice, or promise an interview or job offer. Public access does not permit abusive automation, attempts to bypass rate limits or service degradation.
ClockIN supports builder and hiring-side workflows. Recruiter features are for genuine hiring or team-building activity. Do not impersonate an employer, misrepresent a role, collect candidate information for unrelated purposes, post ghost jobs, or use candidate information for spam or unlawful discrimination.
You keep ownership of content you submit. You give ClockIN a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, process, display and distribute that content as needed to operate, secure and improve the service. Do not upload material you do not have the right to use or represent another person's work as your own. When a project includes team, client, employer, coursework, open-source, template or AI-assisted work, describe your own contribution accurately.
You can add a project without GitHub and attach evidence that fits the work, including links, documents, spreadsheets, presentations, designs, images, videos, datasets, repositories and other artifacts. An attached artifact is evidence on the record; it is not automatically proof of authorship. Optional source-control verification may use a ClockIN challenge for a public repository or deployed site. Passing that challenge shows control of that public source at that time. It does not prove authorship, sole contribution or intellectual-property ownership.
A project can be eligible for Project Defence without completing source-control verification first. ClockIN can ask project-specific questions grounded in the project description, stated contribution and available evidence. Public repository evidence may be sampled down to bounded files and recent changes; non-code projects can be assessed using their own professional context and attached evidence. ClockIN can require human review before marking a defence approved. An approved Project Defence means the member demonstrated project-specific understanding to the review standard used at that time. It does not certify that the member authored every artifact, was the sole creator, or owns all intellectual property in the project.
A skill listed in the ClockIN skill catalog is not automatically a verified Skill Proof assessment. Only skills with an active ClockIN assessment can produce a Skill Proof result. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Platinum are assessment-backed capability levels, not academic awards, accredited qualifications, professional licences, regulated professional certifications, guarantees of competence or promises of employment. Eligible awarded badges can have a ClockIN-issued downloadable Skill Proof certificate and a public verification link. The live link reflects the current awarded badge and expiry; a downloaded image or PDF may become outdated or superseded. Do not present these credentials as issued or accredited by a university, government or third-party certification body. Recruiters should not use a medal level as the sole hiring rule.
ClockIN may rank jobs for candidates and opted-in candidates for recruiters using role skills, Skill Proof, profile and work evidence, stated preferences, location or work-mode fit, and other job-relevant signals. Match percentages and explanations are recommendations, not hiring decisions. ClockIN does not intentionally use protected traits to rank candidates and recruiters remain responsible for lawful, fair hiring decisions.
Applications can include resumes, answers, work samples, Skill Proof and interview evidence. ClockIN can surface response goals and decision deadlines and may remind hiring teams about overdue applications. A status, score or recommendation does not create an employment relationship and does not by itself accept or reject a candidate.
When a role uses a ClockIN interview, the product may capture camera and microphone media, screen media where enabled, answers, transcripts where available, timestamps and session-integrity events such as focus loss or device changes. Model-assisted interviewing may be used when configured; deterministic fallback questions can be used when model processing is unavailable. Competence evidence and integrity evidence are kept conceptually separate. ClockIN does not claim that browser telemetry proves cheating and does not use gaze direction, emotion analysis or protected-trait inference as competence scoring.
ClockIN can summarize Skill Proof, interview evidence, work samples, recommendations and integrity review context into a candidate report for authorized hiring use. Reports support human evaluation and should not be treated as an autonomous final employment decision or as a guarantee that the underlying evidence is complete or error-free.
Community posts and supported discussions can contain threaded replies. The official ClockIN community is automatically joined for new members, may be left and rejoined at any time, and reserves top-level product updates for ClockIN staff while members can reply with questions, suggestions and bug reports. Feed posts may tag ClockIN usernames when both the author and tagged person have tagging enabled. Turning tagging off also disables your ability to tag other people. Do not use replies, mentions or communities for harassment, brigading, spam or unwanted targeting.
ClockIN may help users arrange paid bounties and mentorship. The poster and worker, or mentor and mentee, are the parties to the underlying work or service arrangement; ClockIN provides the platform, transaction records, payment-status workflow and dispute process. Where supported payment protection is enabled, payment can be secured before delivery and released under the applicable completion, refund and dispute rules. Users remain responsible for their scope, representations, taxes, intellectual-property rights and other legal obligations. Marketplace checkout or payout availability may differ by country and provider onboarding status.
Personal referral attribution is available only to members with an approved college, work or government identity verification and is limited to 10 attributed referrals per calendar month. A personal referral Coin reward is issued only after the referred person completes an approved identity verification. Genuine employer introductions are not subject to a monthly quantity cap, but duplicate leads, contacts already in an active ClockIN pipeline, rejected leads and companies that do not become paying customers do not earn commission. For an eligible employer referral that becomes a paying ClockIN customer, the referral commission is 20% of qualifying subscription revenue actually collected during the first three paid months after any free trial. Qualifying revenue excludes taxes and amounts refunded, credited or charged back. Commission becomes claimable after the third qualifying paid month and payout may require reasonable identity, tax or payout-destination verification.
Do not use ClockIN for harassment, discrimination, fraud, spam, malware, unlawful surveillance, credential theft, deceptive recruiting, intellectual-property abuse, abusive scraping, attempts to bypass security controls, or intentionally misleading opportunities or proof. Automated access must not degrade the service or collect user data in ways that violate these Terms or applicable law.
ClockIN may use automated rules, ranking systems and moderation signals to reduce repetitive, low-context, abusive or unsafe content. Automated signals can be imperfect. ClockIN may review reports, remove content, limit reach or features, suspend accounts, or preserve relevant records when reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance or service integrity.
ClockIN can link to or inspect public material hosted by services such as GitHub, design tools, document platforms and deployment providers and may use infrastructure, email, payments or model providers to operate specific features. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. ClockIN does not receive ownership of a third-party account or artifact merely because it is linked or verified and is not responsible for third-party availability, policies or unrelated transactions.
ClockIN is evolving. Features can change, break, move or be removed. We aim to keep the service useful and reliable, but provide it on an as-available basis and do not promise uninterrupted access, a specific score, an interview outcome, employment, revenue, project success or recruiter response.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ClockIN is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from user conduct, third-party services, missed opportunities, hiring decisions, marketplace work quality, mentorship advice, non-performance, infringement or arrangements made between users merely because they met or transacted through ClockIN. An internal marketplace dispute decision concerns supported payment handling; it is not a court judgment on every possible claim between users. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you are responsible for claims, losses or costs caused by your unlawful conduct, fraud, material misrepresentation, infringement, breach of an agreement with another user, tax obligations or content/work you did not have the right to provide. ClockIN may seek reimbursement or indemnification where a third-party claim is caused by those acts and the law permits it.
You may stop using ClockIN at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated violations, security risks or legal requirements. Some records may remain where reasonably needed for security, integrity, dispute handling, legal compliance or product records that cannot safely be detached from other users' activity.
We may update these Terms as ClockIN develops. Material changes will be reflected on this page and, where appropriate, surfaced in the product. Continued use after an updated version takes effect may constitute acceptance where permitted by law. Funded marketplace transactions can remain tied to the policy version accepted for that transaction unless applicable law requires otherwise.
