DoorDash is looking for a senior-level AI and data expert to lead how the Tax department operates through automation, Generative AI, and intelligent data tooling. Beyond building high-impact automation, you will set the strategy for how LLMs, GenAI, and machine learning are integrated into critical tax workflows at scale, and act as the AI authority for the function. This is the role that makes the entire team AI-native rather than merely AI-assisted. By owning the AI and automation governance framework, you will also ensure that everything the team builds on top of sensitive tax data stays controlled, defensible, and audit-ready. You don't just build — you set the bar, mentor the regional teams, and decide how we adopt a fast-moving technology responsibly. You're excited about this opportunity because you will… Define and lead the GenAI strategy for the Tax function, identifying high-value use cases and setting adoption standards. Architect and deploy enterprise-grade AI solutions — intelligent assistants, AI-driven classification, anomaly detection, automated audit support, document summarization, and retrieval-augmented reporting. Own the AI and automation governance framework — model risk, change control, testing and validation standards, documentation, and auditability for tools that touch tax data and filings. Set the rules for responsible, controlled AI use, including data privacy, data residency, and what data may be sent to external model providers, partnering with InfoSec, Internal Audit, and Compliance. Partner with senior Tax, Product, and Engineering leaders to drive requirements and deliver measurable business impact.
