Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable back-end systems to support Galaxy’s diverse business lines (e.g. Custody, Defi, Trading etc), primarily focusing on the onboarding of new custodial and execution accounts and venues. Partner with the tech lead to discuss, shape, and finalize high-level system design and technical approach for medium-to-large initiatives. Collaborate with globally distributed cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. Optimize and improve existing systems for performance, scalability, and reliability. Drive impact analysis and detailed design, and translate designs into clear engineering tasks for implementation. Automate business workflows to increase operational and capital efficiency. Remain hands-on by implementing core components, pairing with engineers when needed. Own services in production end-to-end, including deployment, monitoring, and ongoing reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner. 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on back-end development. Strong proficiency in Java, Python and/or other languages used for back-end development. Experience with database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and ORM frameworks. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to balance design work and hands-on delivery Strong communication and collaboration skills. Interest in Cryptocurrency and building the future. Experience working in Traditional Finance or Cryptocurrency supporting trading, middle-office or back-office systems. Experience with the following technologies: Agentic AI tools such as Claude Code or Codex. Containerization and container orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
